The Glass Menagerie (Theatr Pena)
Set and costume design for a national touring theatre show. Tennessee Williams' play is memory, which is 'dimly lighted'. Playing with the idea that what we remember isn't always realistic, our design process was inspired by this line and we chose to have only a few abstracted elements emerging from the darkness. Theatr Pena is Welsh, project funded company who's acclaimed work has grown in scale considerably since 2009; from our initial profit-share productions to this our second national tour.

Lighting design Ace McCarron ‘Kaite O’Reilly’s new play is a dark dark comedy, a Chekhovian family saga on a mainly bare stage that handles its subjects of aging, death and family with a rich and grounded intellectualism to be expected of the playwright’s work. The production itself skips lightly along the thin line that separates reality from a discomforting dreamscape, the waiting room: everyone is waiting, for death, for life, for family members to arrive.
